Born Pretty Store: Fluorescent lip glosses & a coupon code!

When it comes to cheaper online make-up stores, it's hard to know where to start or what to buy as their websites can sometimes be overwhelming. Born Pretty Store offer something a little different as their website is easy to navigate and contains clear photographs so you can fully see the products and their effects. I'd heard of Born Pretty Store before but haven't ever bought any products from there. As I was browsing I was amazed at the range of products they sell! From nail brushes to eyeshadow and everything in-between, there is something for everyone. They also sell jewellery and clothing too.

After much deliberation I decided upon two lipglosses. These Mixiu lipglosses come in a range of 12 shades that each appear to be incredibly bright and are described as being 'fluorescent'. I thought these would be great for a flash of colour as the weather gets colder and I eventually chose shades 03 and 04! As the items are shipped from Hong Kong, I wasn't expecting them particularly soon but they arrived in just over 2 weeks which I thought was very reasonable! Therefore, if you order do make sure you don't want the items urgently as depending upon where you live they could take up to 45 days to arrive.

They popped through the letterbox and were packaged well and in very sleek tubes! The fluorescent shade popped out through the clear plastic tubes and definitely lived up to the photos on the website. The lipgloss applicator is rounded instead of flat which is fairly uncommon and I presumed it would affect the application but it still applied smoothly and easily! Shade 03 is a bright orange colour which can appear as being quite garish but it doesn't apply quite like you'd expect. The shade is definitely on the brighter side but isn't incredibly bold or over the top. One layer is adequate for a bright finish as this lip gloss is incredibly pigmented! If you're more daring and prefer the brightness, I'd say 2-3 coats would be perfect.

Shade 04 is a pinky/purple shade that is great for autumn! I needed two applications for it to reach its true potential but one layer would be great if you prefer a more subtle look. After two layers the colour popped a lot more and was more appealing to me! It truly is a beautiful shade.

I can sometimes find with lip gloss that they can leave a sticky residue on the lips and have to be reapplied often. The texture of these lip glosses is more like velvet and the liquid lipstick effect leaves a smooth finish that lasts well without the need to reapply often.

Both these lip glosses currently retail at $4.03 which is approximately £2.61. I can't think of a more competitive price for such powerful longetivity and pigmentation and I'd definitely recommend having a look on their website!

BornPrettyStore have also kindly offered a 10% discount code to my readers so if you use the code TTEH10 at the checkout this discount will be applied to your basket. (This code applies to items that aren't discounted)
